There is nothing I love more an easy copycat takeout dinner that comes together quickly and everyone will love and this chicken fits the bill.  Anytime we order takeout we always get the noodles, it is always the best thing on the menu!

I love that dinner comes together so fast, just quickly brown your ground beef and toss it with noodles in a sweet and savory sauce full of flavor.  Just a few ingredients and you will have a delicious, flavorful dinner that tastes better than takeout.  Whenever I find a dinner that everyone in my house eats I get excited!  This one is definitely a crowd-pleaser!  This copycat recipe is tasty and quick with simple ingredients.

The beef is perfectly seasoned in that sweet and savory sauce that coats the noodles. This cooks up in a flavorful sweet and savory sauce of sugar, garlic, soy sauce and a touch of sesame oil for that pop of flavor that really takes this dish to the next level.  I love the rich sauce, it is perfect over these noodles! You can bump up the delicious flavors even more and add some spice.

I love that you can customize this to your family’s taste, make it spicy or sweeter, add your favorite veggies, you can totally make this recipe your own.  The sauce ingredients can be doubled if you want it saucier.  I am always looking for quick-cooking dishes and this one is perfect for that!

Can we also take a minute to talk about how budget-friendly this dinner is?  Everyone is feeling the pinch with the grocery bill right now and you can’t get much cheaper than a little ground beef and pasta. This is so much more affordable than picking up the phone and ordering out again.  So this is a fabulous dinner when you are trying to save a few pennies.

Ingredients used

  • Ground beef-  I like to use lean ground beef for this but you can also use ground pork, turkey or chicken.
  • Soy sauce-  I like using a low sodium soy sauce or a lite soy sauce to cut back on the sodium.
  • Brown sugar- This adds a great sweetness and makes this a flavorful sauce.
  • Toasted sesame oil-  This adds so much flavor to this dish, a little goes a long way. It is the secret ingredient to the dishes rich flavor.
  • Garlic-  You can use fresh garlic or jarred, whichever you have on hand.
  • Red pepper flakes-  These add just the right amount of spice and flavor to these noodles.
  • Green onions-  The perfect pop of flavor and color.
  • Beef broth-  I also like to go with a low sodium beef broth to cut back on any salty flavor.
  • Corn starch-  This helps thicken the sauce and makes the sauce nice and glazy.
  • Fettuccine noodles-  Any type of noodles will work. You can use a lo mein noodle if you like but I just grab these fettuccine noodles or linguine noodles and they work great!  You could also use ramen noodles or rice noodles if you prefer.
  • Sesame seeds and scallions- for garnish, optional you can add
    additional green onions.
