Stew beef, cream of mushroom soup, brown gravy mix and onion soup mix all come together to create a rich and flavorful dinner all made in one pan.  The beef tips get nice and tender while creating it’s own savory gravy that is perfect over mashed potatoes, rice or egg noodles. This is the ultimate cozy dinner!

Ingredients used

  • Stew Beef – You could also cut up a chuck roast if that is what you have. 
  • Cream of Mushroom Soup –  You can also use cream of chicken, cream of celery or cream of onion. 
  • Brown Gravy Mix – I like to use low sodium.  You need one packet while it’s cooking and one to add later to thicken the gravy. 
  • Onion Soup Mix – I like to use the Onion Soup Mix but you can also use the Beefy Onion Soup Mix.

How to make the Best Ever Oven Beef Tips

  1. FULL RECIPE BELOW 
  2. Preheat your oven to 300 degrees.
  3. In a 9×13 baking dish add your beef, cream of mushroom soup, 1 packet of brown gravy mix and the onion soup mix.
  4. Stir everything together and cover tightly with foil. 
  5. Place in the oven and cook for 3 hours.
  6. Remove from the oven and remove the foil.
  7. Carefully stir in the remaining brown gravy packet to thicken up the sauce.
  8. Serve over mashed potatoes, rice or egg noodles.

How can I spice this up?

Super easy to add a little spice to this dish!  You can jalapenos, red pepper flakes or even green chiles. 

What should I serve this over?

I like it over a pile of fluffy mashed potatoes but it is also amazing over egg noodles or rice.

Can I add any vegetables?

This would be great with pearl onion, peas, carrots or potatoes added to it.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds stew beef
  • 1 (10.5 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 envelopes brown gravy mix
  • 1 dry onion soup mix packet
  • 1 can of water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300 degrees.
  2. In a 9x13 baking dish add your beef, cream of mushroom soup, 1 packet of brown gravy mix and the onion soup mix.
  3. Stir everything together and cover tightly with foil. 
  4. Place in the oven and cook for 3 hours.
  5. Remove from the oven and remove the foil.
  6. Carefully stir in the remaining brown gravy packet to thicken up the sauce.
  7. Serve over mashed potatoes, rice or egg noodles.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • You can add fresh onions or mushrooms to this before cooking. 
  • You can use cream of celery or cream of chicken if you prefer.
