These marshmallow eggs are easy to make and so so so delicious!  Marshmallow Eggs are always a hit, especially around the holidays when everyone is looking for festive Easter candy.

These chocolate eggs start with a chocolate base, an easy, creamy, luscious marshmallow filling and topped with more chocolate.

Most marshmallow egg recipes around have you making the marshmallow filling from scratch and I just did not want to mess with that so this recipe turns marshmallow fluff into the perfect marshmallow filling for these eggs.

The fluffy marshmallow layer is made up of marshmallow fluff, butter and powdered sugar to create the light filling.  It is nice and sweet and tastes even better than the store-bought candy.

When it comes to the chocolate for these eggs you can use milk chocolate, dark chocolate, semi-sweet or white chocolate, or even a mixture like I did here.

I drizzled pastel chocolate into the mold before adding the chocolate base and it created such a pretty pattern.

These marshmallow eggs are super easy to make even your kids will want to help.  The filling is no bake and gets rolled into egg shapes and placed in the chocolate lined mold and my kids love helping with that part.

I always set out a plate of these during the holidays and they never last long!  You may want to double this recipe!

These also make fabulous gifts for the holidays.  Who doesn’t want some delicious homemade Easter candy during the holiday?

RECIPE FAQS

Where can I find the egg mold?

I got the egg mold HERE from Amazon, but you can probably find them in a craft store as well.

Can I use any marshmallow fluff?

Of course!! Both marshmallow fluff and marshmallow creme will both work in this recipe.

Which chocolate works best?

Any chocolate you like will be delicious in this recipe.  I do prefer to use a melting chocolate or almond bark, or candy melts.  Sometimes chocolate chips can give you a little trouble melting but usually adding a little oil will fix that.

Ingredients

  • Marshmallow fluff-  You can find these sometimes on the baking aisle and sometimes on the peanut butter and jelly aisle of any grocery store.  You can use marshmallow fluff or marshmallow creme.
  • Salted butter-  I like to use salted butter in this recipe to make the flavors pop a little more.  Make sure your butter is very softened.
  • Vanilla-  Just a little vanilla extract is all you need to bring a little flavor to these eggs.
  • Powdered sugar-  The powdered sugar works to thicken everything up and give the marshmallow filling its melt in your mouth texture.
  • Colored candy melts, yellow, pink, blue-  I find these right at my Walmart on the party supply aisle but you can also find these at any craft store.
  • Chocolate almond bark-  I like to use chocolate almond bark or candy melts for this.  I do not recommend using chocolate chips, they just do not melt as nice and can give you a little trouble.
