I love making Fried Cabbage and Bacon. It is a Southern staple and one of our favorite sides to go with dinner. We love having it as a dinner with egg noodles and sausage but adding egg noodles and jalapenos take it over the top as the best side dish ever.
Jalapeños add just the perfect kick that goes great with the smoky bacon and cabbage. I also saute some onions with this and man this side dish is so flavorful!
You can make this Spicy Bacon Cabbage & Noodles and add some rotisserie chicken and have a hearty, delicious dinner in no time. Even the leftovers are amazing.

P.S You can leave out the jalapeños if you have kiddos or just don’t like spicy. You can also substitute chopped green chiles for a milder flavor.
Ingredients
- Bacon- Use your favorite bacon
- Onion- I like to use a sweet onion for this but whatever you have on hand will work.
- Preshredded coleslaw mix- This is the bag of coleslaw mix you find in the produce section, it is just the cabbage not mixed with the sauce.
- Jalapeno diced- Fresh or canned is fine.
- Egg Noodles- We prefer the wider ones.
- Butter- For flavor.
How to make this Cabbage & Noodles
- Fry the diced bacon in a large skillet till crisp.
- Drain all but 3-4 tablespoons of bacon grease.
- Add thinly sliced onion and jalapeños to the bacon grease in skillet and cook till caramelized.
- Add cabbage to the skillet and cook until tender.
- Boil egg noodles, drain.
- Toss everything together with the butter and serve!

Ingredients
- 1 pound of bacon diced
- 1 onion thinly sliced
- A bag of preshredded coleslaw
- 1 jalapeno diced
- 1 Bag No Yolks Egg Noodles
- 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- Fry the diced bacon in a large skillet till crisp.
- Drain bacon on paper towel, place in large bowl.
- Drain all but 3-4 tablespoons of bacon grease.
- Add thinly sliced onion and jalapeños to the bacon grease in skillet and cook till caramelized.
- Add onions and jalapeños to bacon in bowl.
- Add cabbage to the skillet and cook until tender.
- Boil egg noodles, drain.
- Add cabbage and egg noodles to bowl with onions and bacon and butter
- Add in a little black pepper.
- Toss and serve!
