Ingredients you need

  • Full recipe below
  • Breakfast Sausage- Whatever flavor your family likes. You can even use turkey sausage.
  • Kraft Old English Cheese Spread-  This is sold in jars in the grocery store, NOT in the refrigerated section.  It is a shelf-stable cheese very similar in taste to cheddar cheese.
  • English Muffins-  Any english muffin your family prefers will work with this recipe.  I like to use regular ones but whole wheat work great in this recipe too!

Can I use any breakfast sausage?

Yes! You can use regular breakfast sausage, hot, sage, turkey breakfast sausage, whichever is your favorite will work in this recipe.

What do I do if I cannot find Old English Cheese?

Only Kraft makes the Old English Cheese spread and sometimes it can be a little tricky to find. While it is a one of the key ingredients do not worry if you cannot find it. My Walmart always has it in stock though.  If you cannot find it or want a more budget-friendly alternative you can substitute 10 ounces of Velvetta cheese.  I have done this many, many times.

Can I double this recipe?

This is the best recipe to double to triple!  The sausage mixture is so easy to double.

Can I spice these up?

Of course!! There are quite a few things you can add to this recipe to give it a little extra pop of flavor like cayenne pepper, worcestershire sauce, garlic powder or garlic salt.

Can I add anything else to the mix?

You can totally make these your own and add some things to the mix like fresh spinach, egg whites, or pepper jack cheese for a kick or egg whites or egg yolks for even more protein.
