Easter Cookie Dough Truffles
These Easter Cookie Dough Truffles are sweet, creamy, and coated in chocolate, an easy no-bake treat packed with pastel candy that’s perfect for spring celebrations.

There is something about Easter treats that just makes me want to make everything pastel and adorable. Maybe it’s the candy colors. Maybe it’s the fact that spring finally feels close. Or maybe it’s just that with three boys — Dean, Sam, and Van — I’m always looking for ways to make holidays feel a little extra fun.
These Easter Cookie Dough Truffles have become one of those recipes I make almost every year. The first time I made them, I just wanted something easy. No baking, no complicated decorating, nothing that would require perfection. Just something sweet and festive that I knew would disappear fast.
And disappear they did.
Dean loves anything cookie dough, so this was an immediate hit with him. Sam liked that they were bite-sized and dipped in chocolate (because let’s be honest, chocolate makes everything better). And Van? He mostly cared about the colorful candy pieces inside. The pastel M&M’s alone were enough to convince him to try one, and then he asked for another.
What I love about these truffles is that they feel a little special without being hard. The cookie dough is soft and creamy, studded with candy, and once dipped in chocolate they look like something from a bakery. But really, they come together in one bowl and a microwave.
They’re perfect for Easter dessert tables, baskets, classroom parties, or just a little afternoon treat. And as a mom, I’ll always take a no-bake recipe that looks impressive but doesn’t stress me out.
What Are Easter Cookie Dough Truffles?
Easter Cookie Dough Truffles are edible cookie dough balls made without eggs, mixed with pastel candy pieces, rolled into balls, chilled, and then dipped in melted chocolate. Once set, they become bite-sized truffles with a soft cookie dough center and a chocolate shell.
They’re festive, colorful, and incredibly easy to make.

Do I chill these in the fridge or freezer?
I chill them in the freezer because that makes it easier when dipping but you can also chill them in the fridge. Either way just make sure they stay cold while you are dipping the others.
Can I melt chocolate chips for dipping?
I have never had too much luck melting chocolate chips for dipping. You have to add a shortening or coconut oil to get it to a good dipping consistency. I always just buy the almond bark or candy melts. You can find these in the baking or party aisle of your grocery store. I have had great luck finding them at Walmart but craft stores carry them too!
Is almond bark the same as white chocolate?
It is! And I love working with it, it melts so easily and is perfect for dipping. I do not recommend using white chocolate chips for this at all, it almost never melts correctly and can make the dipping process very difficult.
Can I make these easter egg truffles ahead of time?
Sure!! I would say you could make these 3 days in advance, maybe longer if you refrigerate them.
Do these cookie dough egg truffles need refrigeration?
Depending on how long they will be around for. If you make them the night before and they will be eaten the next day you can leave them unrefrigerated. After that I would keep the leftover in the fridge just because there is butter in the filling.
Can I roll these out and cut egg shapes out?
You can, the shape of an egg is pretty easy to hand mold and I like a thicker egg. Hand shaping them also prevents the cream filling from getting to warm by being rolled out and then rerolled.
