Hey guys!! So every Friday night is pizza night in our house. The boys look forward to it and it is so much fun! We make our pizzas and then snuggle in to watch a movie. My boys love just a cheese or pepperoni pizza, but my husband and I like to create some delicious combinations for our pizza.

We both love fajitas and knew it would be amazing in pizza form, and we were right!

Now each pizza night starts out the same with all the ingredients laid out so we can all work together to get the pizza in the oven.

We make our crust from scratch because it’s delicious, and it’s also a lot easier than you think.

The most important thing to remember when working with yeast in a recipe like this is to make sure the water is heated between 120˚F-130˚F. Always use a thermometer to check temperature. Too cold and the yeast won’t bloom and rise, too hot and you risk killing the yeast. So just make sure to double check that you have the temperature right and your recipes will come out perfect! Also, the yeast shouldn’t be expired. That is often the reason of ‘not rising’.

So once you have everything mixed together, you knead it for about 4 minutes. My kids love this step, and it gives me a chance to clean up any stray flour lol.

After it’s kneaded, it does need to rest for 10 minutes.

Then you just shape it and top it.

We topped this Steak Fajita Pizza with salsa as the sauce, Colby Jack cheese, green pepper and red onion, grilled steak pieces (a great way to use up leftovers), and corn and black beans.

After it baked, we topped it with chipotle sauce, and this pizza was amazing! All the flavors worked wonderfully together and the crust was perfectly baked.

Can I use a different protein?

Of course!! Feel free to use fajita spiced chicken, leftover taco meat, shrimp or you can even leave out the meat and add some more veggies.

Can I use a different salsa like a verde?

That would be amazing! Use your favorite salsa, something you like to dip your chips in. You could even go a little crazy and use a queso, yum!

Other toppers?

You can go crazy with the toppings. It is all up to what your family likes. Some things you could use top the pizza are:

  1. Sour cream
  2. Guacamole
  3. Green onions
  4. Pico de gallo
  5. Avocado
  6. Shredded lettuce
  7. Fresh tomatoes
  8. Crispy tortilla chips
  9. Cilantro

Of course, you do not have to make a pizza this loaded or out of the box. Feel free to use this crust recipe to make your own pizza, anything from a plain cheese pizza all the way to this Steak Fajita Pizza.

So get the kids involved, get some flour on your hands and have a pizza night with your family!
