Can I substitute the meats?
Yes, you could use boneless skinless thighs, you can use turkey sausage, chicken sausage, you can also leave out the shrimp completely.
What should I serve this with?
I would serve this with some red beans, or maybe a salad, some cornbread. I like to have it with this Corn Casserole.
Can I make this spicier?
You can add red pepper flakes or jalapenos to give this a kick.
Ingredients used
- Chicken Tenderloins – You can use boneless chicken breasts or chicken thighs as well.
- Smoked Sausage – Use your favorite brand and flavor, though traditionally andouille is used.
- Celery – For flavor.
- Garlic – You can use fresh or jarred.
- Frozen Peppers and Onions – I like the ease of the frozen peppers and onion but you can use fresh.
- Diced Tomatoes – You can also add a little flavor by using the ones with green chiles.
- Cajun Seasoning – I use Tony’s but use your favorite brand.
- Smoked Paprika – This gives the dish a little smoky flavor.
- Shrimp – I like to use the bigger shrimp but you can use the size you like or leave them out completely.
- Cream – This gives the dish a creaminess to the sauce.
- Bowtie Pasta – Use whatever short pasta you like.
How to make this Jambalaya Pasta

- Into the slow cooker place the chicken, sausage, celery, garlic, peppers and onions, tomatoes, cajun seasoning and paprika.
- Stir it together and cover and cook on low for 6 hours.
- 30 minutes before serving add your shrimp to the slow cooker and continue cooking.
- Prepare your pasta according to box directions.
- Add the cream and cooked pasta to the slow cooker and serve!

- 1 pound chicken tenderloins, cut into bite size pieces
- 14 ounces smoked sausage, cut into bite size pieces
- 3 stalks of celery, diced
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 20 ounces of frozen peppers and onions
- 28 ounce can diced tomatoes
- 1 ½ tablespoons cajun seasoning
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 12 ounces large peeled and deveined shrimp
- ½ cup cream
- 16 ounces bowtie pasta, cooked to box directions
Instructions

- Stir it together and cover and cook on low for 6 hours.
