Hey guys!! So I know you are enjoying summer, the kids just got out of school and it’s time to slow down for summer!  But before we know it, the weather will get cooler and summer will be coming to an end.  That means school will be starting back up.

Now I plan ahead and while hanging out by the pool soaking up the last of the summer I sun I plan out easy dinners to get me through that back to school rush.  Those nights where you are still trying to get into the swing of a new school year call for easy dinners that everyone will love.  So I love to start stock piling recipes and filling my freezer and pantry now!

When I was doing my weekly grocery shopping at Kroger I spotted this new RAGU Homestyle Sauce.  It looked sooo delicious!  I am a jarred sauce girl myself, you won’t catch me breaking my neck in the kitchen to make sauce when there are some fabulous jarred sauces out there that taste amazing!

RAGU is my go to spaghetti sauce.  I grew up with it, my family uses it, we love it.  I could not wait to try their new Homestyle sauce which boasts bold flavors and a thick and hearty texture that will just cling to your pasta.  I am all for a thick sauce!

Even though you are taking a kitchen shortcut, no one will suspect because RAGU Homestyle has ingredients that are peeled chopped and simmered to a perfect made-from-scratch taste.  I don’t have time to do that myself especially with the hustle and bustle of a new school year so I am loving this new sauce.

Now one of my most favorite things about all RAGU red sauce including their new Homestyle sauce is they contain no artificial colors, no artificial flavors and no high-fructose corn syrup.  This is super important to me since my son has a red dye allergy.

One of my favorite go to meals for the busy back to school time in One Pot Sausage Penne.  It is quick, easy and the whole family loves it.  Plus with just one pot clean up is a breeze so you get to those baths and homework faster.

I just brown up some italian sausage in skillet.

Then I add in my penne (any short pasta will do)

Next that rich, thick homestyle sauce.

A little water then just bring it to a boil on the stove.  Cover and reduce to simmer.
