Do you use instant or cook and serve lemon pudding? It looks so delicious and I love poke cakes, anything easy in summer.
I just use good ole instant pudding :) Thanks!!!!!
Is the pudding cooked or instant?
I just use instant but either would probably work :)
Do I let cake cool before adding pudding? Cake is in oven now.
Can’t wait to try it.
I don’t let it cool, I just poke it, pour the pudding on the pop in the fridge :) hope you like it !!
I have been making a version of this for years !!!!!!!!! I use a cook-type lemon pudding, and pour it over a white cake hot !
I don’t poke holes either….. Yes, Cool Whip on top !
I think a lemon jello poke cake would be awesome! I also never tried instant lemon pudding ! LOL So this seems a nice combo !
They do make a lemon cake mix available, so that would also boost the flavor !!!!!
Soooooo…. I would like to try a poke cake with COFFEE flavored gelatine !!! Maybe in a German Choc Cake ???
What do you think ??? I think I might add espresso powder to the cake too …..
Oh my goodness one the the coffee German cake one sounds amazing!!!!
YUMMY! This looks so good!

Thank you!!! :)
Is that 8 oz. of Cool Whip? And 2 big boxes of the instant pudding? Thank you very much for your help.
That’s right :) One 8 oz container of cool whip but it is 2 of the smaller packages of instant pudding. Thanks for stopping by!
Cake is in the oven right now, and I am going to try this with the pumpkin pudding, I think it will be delicious
This sounds delicious and so easy! I was wondering, have you ever used lemon cake mix with the lemon pudding or is that just way too much lemon??
I think it would be delicious, you can never have too much lemon!
I love anything lemon so hope to try this soon. Thanks for sharing the recipe.
Made this today…sadly was disappointed it wasn’t as lemon tasting as I expected . I love poke cakes, so I think I will take the suggestion of using lemon cake mix as well. Thanks for sharing though. Have a great weekend!
I’m going to try this as soon as I get to the store also can I use real whipping cream instead of Dream whip?
You sure can!
Making this for my daughter’s Birthday celebration. She live Lemon!
Can it be made in round cake pans as a layered cake?
Not sure if some of the pudding sits above the cake after fridgeration, it would slurry off the first
Layer of round cake.
Sadly I do not think this would work as a layer cake, the pudding would make things too slippery. Hope you daughter has a happy birthday!
