Fess Up Friday
I’m going to keep this short and sweet because this mama is exhausted!
Yesterday was like the worst Thanksgiving ever thanks to a little demon spawn named Dean. I could tell when he woke up he was going to be grumpy, I did not know it was going to last ALLLLLL day.
I spent 2 hours getting dressed and all prettied up for Thanksgiving, gathered up all the food I had prepared the night before and we headed out to my grandparents around 2. As soon as we stepped in Dean said “I want to go home” and he continued to say nothing but that for the next 5 hours!!!
Family came over “I want to go home”
Turkey was sliced “I want to go home”
Rolls and cranberry sauce being passed around “I want to go home”
That child literally said nothing but that all day and it was constant.
It was getting to the point where he was making my eye twitch and my sanity was hanging on by thread. Daniel and I couldn’t eat, we couldn’t converse with family members or anything.
Finally we couldn’t take it anymore, so we packed up without any pumpkin pie and took his crabby little butt home.
We walk in the door to our house “But Mooooooom!!!! I want to go to Cookie’s house” (Cookie is my grandma) I wanted to scream!! But at that point I was too tired. The hubs had to go to work (no rest for the milkmen) and I put Dean to bed, and finished my Thanksgiving on the sofa under a blanket with a cherry coke and a bag of gummi bears sobbing to The Family Stone instead of eating pie and hanging out with family.
It is what it is and he is an angel today and all kids have that horrible day where they are just asses all day long and Dean’s just happened to fall on Thanksgiving.
My fess up for the week is I started threatening with calling Santa Claus weeks ago. However, obviously it is not working.
Here’s to hoping your holiday was better!!
