Can I use frozen or canned cranberry sauce?

You can!  I would just make sure to drain the cranberry sauce on some paper towels to get out any excess liquid.  As for frozen I would put them in a strainer to thaw just to strain out any extra liquid.

Can I use homemade whipped cream?

Of course! You can definitely use homemade whipped cream in this recipe.

What else can I add to this?

You can add pineapple tidbits, grated apple, pecans, walnut, some people even add grapes.

Can I make this ahead of time?

Sure! Just mix everything together and pop it in the fridge until you are ready to serve!
