Caramel Apple Pie Quesadillas-2

Hey guys!! Tonight I want you to do me a favor, go outside and take a deep breath.  Do you smell that? That crispness in the air that signals fall is on the way!  Now listen, do you hear the first crunchy leaves of autumn falling to the ground? Do you feel that barely there chill in the air of fall making its way through those last warm summer nights?

I love fall, it is my favorite season!! There’s Back to School, football, Halloween and Thanksgiving!  There are chilly evening walks, pumpkin patches, and warm cozy meals.  I love everything about fall!

Fall food has to be one of my favorites though! Everything is warm and hearty, desserts are made with pumpkin, apples, caramel and spices.  That is why I want to tell you about my new favorite fall recipe Caramel Apple Pie Quesadillas that I make with Mission® Super Soft Flour Tortillas!

I love apple pie, it just is such a fall staple to me!  I have it every birthday (even though my birthday is in the summer!) I love thinking of new ways to reinvent the classic apple pie and this has to be one of my favorite ways!

I always have Mission Super Soft Flour Tortillas on hand because my family goes through a lot of them! My son takes them for lunch everyday as a wrap, they are the star of Taco Tuesdays, but I love using them in a dessert so today I’ll be walking you through this recipe! I might even have to recreate this for my football gatherings this fall.

They are great in this recipe and are so yummy with the apple pie filling cinnamon sugar outside.  Don’t forget to serve them with extra caramel for dipping!

You can make your own apple pie filling or use your favorite canned apple pie filling!  I used canned because my kids leave me no time for homemade filling lol.

Caramel Apple Pie Quesadillas

  • This recipe is super simple! You just start with one of those Mission Super Soft Flour Tortillas and place it in a greased pan over medium heat.
  • I then add a few drizzles of caramel, the pie filling, more caramel.
  • Top with another tortilla and spray the top of that one with cooking spray or melted butter.
  • Flip the quesadilla over when first side is brown.
  • While second side is cooking sprinkle top side with cinnamon and sugar.
  • When second side is done cooking place onto plate that has a layer of cinnamon sugar on it.
  • Slice in 4ths and serve!

I know I will be making these a lot this season!! I think they will be perfect for sitting out of the porch under a quilt and having a sweet treat in the chilly evenings.  These will be great for when the family comes over after visiting the pumpkin patch.  They are great anytime!!

Don’t forget to pick up Mission Super Soft Tortillas for all your fall, football tailgating recipes!

Just caramel sauce in a jar, not the squeeze bottle kind.

I just used the caramel ice cream topping, the kind in a jar not a bottle.

What a fantastic idea! I have some apples on the table that need to be used, and I have just found the *perfect* way! Simple, delicious, and quick ~ what could be better? Thank you for sharing this!
Side note: One could use *any* flavor of pie filling… I loved the comment asking about pumpkin filling! Now I’m imagining this with blackberry pie filling… oh my!
