How to make Slow Cooker Christmas Chex Mix 

  1. Full recipe below.
  2. Spray your slow cooker with non-stick spray.
  3. Add cereals, peanuts and pretzels.
  4. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, syrup, vanilla and cinnamon.
  5. Pour the butter mixture into the slow cooker and gently toss the cereal mixture to combine.
  6. Place your lid on the slow cooker but at a slight angle so it is not completely closed.
  7. Cool on low for 2-3 hours stirring every 30 minutes or so to make sure it does not stick. 
  8. Pour out the chex mix to a parchment paper lined tray. 
  9. Sprinkle with the m&ms and white chocolate chips.
  10. Cool and serve!

Ingredients you need

  • Butter – This creates the buttery coating for this mix.
  • Brown Sugar – This gives it a little caramel flavor. 
  • Vanilla Extract – You can also use vanilla paste if you like. 
  • Cinnamon Chex Cereal – I like that this gives it a toasty spiced flavor.  You can also use rice chex, wheat chex or corn chex. You can even mix up types of chex cereal
  • Honey Nut Cheerios –  You can also use any flavor cheerio you like.
  • Mini Pretzel Twists –  Pretzel sticks will also work or even peanut butter pretzel nuggets, but these mini pretzels work great.
  • Cocktail Peanuts – This adds a bit of saltiness to the mix. 
  • Syrup – Pancake syrup or maple syrup will work great in this.
  • Cinnamon – Adds a warmth to the flavor of this chex mix. 
  • White chocolate chips- These add a great Christmas color and pop of chocolatey flavor.
  • Red and Green M&Ms- These add Christmas color and a great candy crunch to this mix.

Can I use any other cereal?

Yes! You could use any flavor chex or any flavor Cheerios.

What can I add to this?

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of honey nut cheerios
  • 4 cups of cinnamon chex
  • 2 cups of salted cocktail peanuts
  • 2 cups of mini pretzels twists
  • 1/2 cup of butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup of syrup
  • 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1 cup red and green m&ms
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Spray your slow cooker with non-stick spray.
