Can I use any other protein?
Yes, you could use boneless skinless chicken thighs, boneless skinless chicken breasts or even a beef chuck roast. Just adjust cooking times accordingly.

We loved this piled high on fluffy buns with coleslaw but it is also great over white rice or in baked potatoes.
Can I make this more spicy?
You can add red pepper flakes, jalapenos or sriracha to give this a kick.
Ingredients used
●Boneless pork shoulder butt roast- This is what I like to use but you can use your favorite cut of pork for making pulled pork.
● Root beer- Use your favorite brand, I have not tested this with diet so I am not sure well that will work.
● BBQ sauce- Use whatever brand and flavor you like.
● Onion powder- You can use sliced fresh onion if you like.
● Garlic salt- I like to use Lawrys.
● Cajun seasoning- This adds a little flavor and a bit of heat.
● Smoked paprika- I love using the smoked kind to give the meat a little smokiness.
● Coleslaw- This is optional but it is soo good on bbq sandwiches.
How to make this Slow Cooker BBQ Pulled Pork

- Place the pork into the slow cooker.
- Cover the pork roast with the seasonings.
- Pour the root beer into the slow cooker.
- Pour half of the bottle of bbq sauce over the pork.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the meat is falling apart.
- Discard any fat from the pork.
- Shred the pork.
- Add the rest of the bbq sauce and stir to combine.
- Serve!

Ingredients
- ● 3-4 pound boneless pork shoulder butt roast
- ● 12 ounces root beer
- ● 18 ounce bottle bbq sauce
- ● 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ● 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- ● 1 teaspoon cajun seasoning
- ● 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- ● Coleslaw for topping, optional
- ● Buns
Instructions
1. Place the pork into the slow cooker.
2. Cover the pork roast with the seasonings.
3. Pour the root beer into the slow cooker.
4. Pour half of the bottle of bbq sauce over the pork.
5. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the meat is falling apart.
6. Discard any fat from the pork.
7. Shred the pork.
8. Add the rest of the bbq sauce and stir to combine.
9. Serve!
Notes
● You can use a variety of different pork roasts for this recipe just adjust the
cooking time to accommodate your roast.
● Use your favorite bbq sauce, spicy bbq sauce would be great on this!
● You can spice this up by adding red pepper flakes while cooking.
● Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
