This Slow Cooker Tatertot Casserole is such a classic dish and I love that I can make it right in the slow cooker.  Ground beef, onion, corn, cream of mushroom, sour cream, milk and seasonings all come together to make a delicious filling that gets topped with everyone’s favorite tatertots!  Those get topped with cheese for a family-friendly crowd-pleaser.

I love slow cooker dinners, they save me so much time and I love having dinner ready for me in the evening when things get a little hectic.  My favorite slow cooker recipes are ones that have a few ingredients and that my whole family enjoys and this tatertot casserole fits the bill.

I love that I can just throw everything in the slow cooker and have a delicious, flavorful dinner that everyone really enjoys.  Whenever I find a dinner that everyone in my house eats I get happy!  And for it to be in the slow cooker? That’s a win for this mama.

Tatertot Casserole is such an old fashion classic dish.  Many of grew up eating this, it might have had green beans instead of corn, or mashed potatoes instead of tatertots but it is still the same base dish.  It has been around and popular for so long because it is delicious and a family favorite.

Ground beef, corn, onion, and cream of mushroom soup make up the base.  It gets topped with tatertots and cheese and cooks to perfection.

Every family has their own version of this dish and you can make it your own too!  Switch out the corn for green beans, peas or carrots.  Use mashed potatoes instead of tatertots.  Change the cheese to your favorite like pepperjack.  Add different seasonings to the beef.  This is so easy to customize to your family’s taste.

Is it just me or are grocery prices skyrocketing?! I am always on the hunt for budget friendly meals and this one is super affordable.  Ground beef, tatertots and a few other ingredients and you have a crowd-pleasing dinner without breaking the bank.

Next time you want a family-friendly dinner even the pickiest kids will love throw these ingredients together and let the slow cooker take care of the rest!

I promise your whole family will love this Slow Cooker Tatertot Casserole.

Can I use any ground meat?

Yes, you can use ground chicken, ground pork, ground turkey or even diced up chicken tenderloins.

Can I substitute the cream of mushroom soup?

Of course!  Not everyone likes mushrooms so you can use cream of chicken, cream of celery or cream of onion.

Can I use mashed potatoes instead?

Yes! You can use mashed potatoes instead of tatertots if you prefer.  You can also use frozen hashbrowns.
