My favorite part is that these comes together so quick and is always impressive.  This is going to be your go to dessert for all your Halloween parties and will always be a hit! Everyone will be asking you to bring these to all the parties!

I remember when I was a kid jello jigglers were all the rage and we would beg our parents to make them, and then came the jello eggs that we made every Easter!  Now here are jello ghosts perfect for Halloween and super nostalgic!

These spooky little shots start with green apple jello and then you just use a little food coloring to paint on eyes.

I love that you can easily make these for adults or children.  If making them for children just replace the alcohol in the recipe for water.

These are such a fun and spooky little treat that all ages love.  You can even get creative and change up the colors and flavors.  Purple and orange ghosts would be adorable!

Can I use any flavor Jello?

Of course!  I used green apple jello but you can use lime or watermelon.  You can also use orange or grape for purple or orange ghosts.

What alcohol do I add?

I keep it simple and just use vodka but there are a ton of flavored vodkas out there you can use.

Can I make these for kids?

Of course!  Just use water instead of the alcohol in the recipe.

How do I make sure the ghosts come out of the mold?

Make sure you grease the molds liberally and make sure you give the jello plenty of time to set up.  If you still have trouble getting them out of the mold because it can be tricky you can reduce the amount of water by 1/4 cup.

Ingredients used

  • Green Apple Gelatin –  I used green apple but you can use lime or any flavor you like.
  • Boiling Water –  You do need boiling water to dissolve the jello.
  • Vodka or cold water –  Use your favorite vodka or substitute it for water if making for children.
  • Ghost mold – I got mine from Amazon HERE.
  • Black food coloring –  I find a gel food coloring works best.
  • Non-stick spray –  You do need this for the mold and don’t skimp when using it.

  • You can also use lime jello which comes in a 3 ounce box.
  • The green apple jello does make more than 8 shots and the mold comes in 8 so if you want more you could buy more molds or just make more of the jello mixture after the first batch sets.
  • The lime jello should yield 8 shots without having too much leftover.
