I love the marbled green and orange cookie bars that are topped with a bright purple buttercream to really make those sprinkles stand out.

This is a simple dessert that is always a hit.  The sugar cookie base is perfect and the buttercream light and fluffy.

This is a great dessert to serve at a Halloween party or even after a night of trick or treating.

This will be a hit with kids and adults and it is super impressive but actually easy to make.

You only need a few ingredients and pantry staples to create this delicious spooky dessert so you can whip it up in no time!

I really like to use the brighter neon Halloween colors sometimes instead of the traditional black and orange to change things up a bit, plus this won’t dye your teeth black lol!

Ingredients used

  • Butter – You can use either salted or unsalted, both will work fine.

  • Cream cheese –  This makes the bars rich and chewy.
  • Eggs –  Just regular large eggs work great!
  • Vanilla extract – This provides that sugar cookie flavor.
  • Almond extract –  This adds a little something extra to the flavor.
  • Baking powder – This helps make the cookies rise a little
  • Flour – All purpose flour is all you need for these bars.
  • Green and orange food coloring –  You can use any Halloween colors you like.

Frosting

  • Butter – Again you can use unsalted or salted butter.
  • Powdered sugar –  This provides the base for this fluffy frosting.
  • Vanilla extract – This adds the flavor you need.
  • Almond extract –  Almond extract works great in this recipe!
  • Purple food coloring –  I like to use purple for the frosting as it makes the sprinkles pop.
