French Onion Soup Meatball Subs

Hey y’all! Today I am going to share an easy recipe with you guys that will blow your taste buds away! So I love to cook, I cook dinner every night for my family and they used to be really labor intensive meals but this mama was getting tired. My nights are getting busier and I just run out of time at the end of the day, but that doesn’t mean I want to call for take out again. I still want to provide my family with a great meal. With a milkman husband I need to have a filling, yummy dinner ready for him before he goes to work at night, thus my need for quicker recipes!
So now I aim to provide delicious, easy homemade meals that I can make in 30 minutes. I have fallen in love with taking shortcuts in the kitchen and Campbell’s has always helped me get in and out of the kitchen fast. So when I was doing my weekly shopping at Walmart and came across their new Soups For Fast Cooking I grabbed them and could not wait to get started brainstorming some easy dinners with these flavorful soups.
The Sweet Onion flavor really stuck out in my mind and I knew it would make amazing French Onion Soup Meatballs, but I wanted to take it a step further and make French Onion Soup Meatball Subs. Let me tell you these babies are delicious!! Crusty garlic bread sub rolls mimic that crunchy crouton from the soup, the meatballs simmer in that Sweet Onion Sauce and gooey, melty swiss cheese just brings this whole dish together.
My family loves these subs. I love that I can get them made in 30 minutes and the flavor is just amazing thanks to Campbell’s Soups For Easy Cooking. I am so excited to show you more recipes you can make with these soups in the next few weeks.
But first how to make these awesome subs!
French Onion Soup Meatball Subs
Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 onion thinly slices
- 1 carton Campbell's Soups For Cooking Sweet Onion
- 4 sub buns
- softened butter
- garlic salt
- Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- In a skillet brown your thin sliced onions in butter, remove from pan.
- Mix the beef, garlic, Worcestershire and breadcrumbs and form into meatballs.
- Sear the meatballs in skillet,.
- Add back in the onions and the soup.
- Cover and let simmer 15 minutes.
- Meanwhile spread the inside of your buns with butter and sprinkle with garlic salt and parm cheese.
- Broil till just toasty and brown.
- Add 4 meatballs per sub and top with 2 slices thin swiss cheese.
- Pop back under the broiler for just a second to melt the cheese.
- Serve to your hungry family!
Oh yeah, these meatballs are also fabulous over some creamy mashed potatoes, yum!
