This Cranberry Pepper Jelly Spiral Ham is probably my favorite ham of them all. The perfect mix of sweet, spicy and tart go perfectly with the salty ham.
There is nothing I love more during the holidays than a perfectly glazed ham! This Cranberry Pepper Jelly Ham is sure to impress all your guests with a perfectly sweet and sticky glaze made with cranberry sauce, brown sugar and pepper jelly. The cranberry sauce and pepper jelly balances perfectly with the sweet brown sugar and salty ham. From the amazing flavor to the shiny glaze this ham will be the star of any holiday table. This new recipe for ham will be a favorite!
This is also an easy ham to make, the oven does most of the work for you. You just pour a simple glaze over it while it cooks and right before serving you pour the rest of that sticky glaze all over the ham and broil for a minute which gives it that irresistible shiny, glazy look. It makes the perfect christmas ham. The cranberry pepper jam glaze makes it perfect for the holidays.
This Cranberry Spiral Ham is such a show stopper there will be no need to serve turkey or anything else. Forget about the turkey or anything else you were planning on making because this is all anyone will want on the holiday dinner table year after year. It is a staple on my holiday menu.
Of course, how could I share this recipe without talking about how delicious it is! The flavors in this ham are amazing. Tart cranberry sauce, sweet brown sugar and sweet and spicy pepper jelly all come together to create the best ham glaze. Did I mention that your house will smell heavenly while this is cooking? You will want to make it just for the smell alone lol! The sweet glaze has just a small kick from the spicy jam. One of my favorite christmas recipes.
This ham is tender and always cooks perfectly and is the star main dish at my holiday table. It is fabulous the day of cooking but of course the leftovers make amazing sandwiches and then don’t forget to save that ham bone to make the most incredible bean soup later on. I love using leftover ham to make these Ham and Swiss Croissants.
I can’t wait for the holidays so I can make this ham and can’t wait for you to try it, I know it will soon become a holiday tradition in your family too, it is just too perfect for the holiday season.
RECIPE FAQS
Can I make this in the slow cooker?
Of course!! You just follow the steps but instead of putting it in the oven just pop it in your slow cooker. Top with half the glaze, then just let it cook on low for 4-5 hours or until a thermometer reaches 140 degrees. Then remove it and a bit more glaze and broil before serving.
Can I use another something else instead of cranberry sauce?
Sure you can! You can substitute pineapple preserves, orange preserves or even apricot preserves and it will still be so delicious.
Can I use a boneless ham?
Yes, you can certainly use a boneless ham for this. Just be sure to adjust the cooking time for the size boneless ham you purchase.
Can I make this ahead of time?
You can make this ahead of time. I love making a ham ahead of time because it tastes just as good cold as it does warm. You can fully cook ham a day ahead of time and then just glaze it before serving.
What I used to make this spiral ham recipe
Ingredients
- Bone-in Spiral Ham – I like to get my spiral cut ham from Walmart or Sam’s or even Target has fabulous hams.
- Brown Sugar – This adds a lot of sweetness to the dish and helps thicken the glaze.
- Cranberry Sauce – This adds just the right amount of sweetness and tartness to the glaze.
- Pepper Jelly – The pepper jelly brings a lot to the flavor of this dish, a bit of sweetness and a bit of a spicy kick. The hot pepper jelly isn’t too spicy at all.
