Have a Moment Of Connection with Coffee-mate and Peppermint Mocha Cupcakes
The holidays are approaching, the weather is chilly and everyone is just busy busy busy! Busy days call for coffee to give us a boost of energy and warm up those brisk mornings. Once the cold weather rolls in so does my favorite coffee creamer, Nestle Coffee-mate Peppermint Mocha. That first cup every year just floods me with memories of winters before, Christmas mornings, flannel pajamas, chilly nights on the sofa and I cannot help but to have a big smile with every sip.
It is so easy this time of year to just rush around and have no time to sit down and reconnect with family, friends and even just yourself. That was me this last month so this weekend I took the time to whip up some delicious cupcakes and a couple cups of coffee for my husband and I to just sit and relax and connect with each other over hot mugs of coffee and decadent Peppermint Mocha Cupcakes.
We talked about the upcoming holidays, present ideas, our week, movies we’ve had no time to watch and just had a great little coffee date at our dining room table in our pajamas. It was wonderful, we reconnected after a packed week of barely seeing each other and wrangling an out of control toddler.
The coffee was just what we needed to help us stay up and catch up on TV and the cupcakes provided a delicious after dinner treat. I took the easy way with the cupcakes and used a boxed mix but substituted the water for coffee and made a ganache filling with the Peppermint Mocha creamer and even added it to the yummy butter-cream frosting. They are easy to make and perfect for any occasion and who can say no to the combination of chocolate, coffee and peppermint?
So the next time you find yourself rushing around and need a break, pour yourself a nice big mug of coffee, splash in some Peppermint Mocha Creamer and take a moment to connect to yourself, your family, your husband or your kids. Don’t forget to make the cupcakes, everything is better with cupcakes!
