Hey guys!! It is summer! That means longer days full of sun and sand, nights outside catching lightin’ bugs. Of course on these summer evenings you can step outside and you are sure to catch a whiff of someone grilling out.
Grilling out goes hand in hand with summer. Of course we love the usual grilling suspects like hot dogs, burgers, ribs and chicken but sometimes you want something a little different.
While shopping at Target I spotted these MorningStar Farms Spicy Black Bean Veggie Burgers. I know they would be a welcome change to the usual and they sounded delicious!
We all already know about meatless Monday and these would be fabulous for that but MorningStar Farms wants to take it a step further.
They want you to join in and pledge #Vegallegiance to go meatless for (number of meals) a week!
This is such a great thing! Being southern I know we don’t go meatless nearly enough and this is just the push we need to get on a better track!
You can pledge your #Vegallegiance that you will go meatless for a certain number of meals a week and you can enter the #Vegallegiance sweepstakes for your chance to win a hybrid car, cruiser bicycle or a year supple of MorningStar Farms products!
I love having these Black Bean Burgers on hand. They can be grilled up in minutes and I love making them for a cookout and introducing everyone to how amazing a meatless burger can truly be.
Not only do I love serving these at cookouts but I love having them on hand for quick lunches during the week.
They are so packed full of flavor and yummy ingredients I could go meatless everyday! They make excellent burgers but try breaking them up into tacos, nachos or a taco salad (my fav!)
I am going to show you how I prepare these for cookout.
I like to go with a little mexican flair for these burgers.
I grilled up MorningStar Farms Spicy Black Bean Burgers and topped them with a little cheese. You can use american cheese, pepperjack, cheddar, any kind you like.
Then I place each one on a soft tortilla.
Then I served these delicious burgers with all our favorite taco toppings, crispy tortilla chips, guacamole and taco sauce. Feel free to add your favorites like lettuce, tomato, sour cream, salsa or jalapenos!
These were a huge hit! We were all blown away by the flavor! They were full of black beans and corn with a nice spicy kick (not too much though, so don’t worry).
