My favorite slow cooker for this recipe is this Hamilton Beach one.

Can I use a different cut of chicken?

You can use boneless skinless thighs or chicken tenderloins for this recipe and they will work great. You could even use diced up pork tenderloin.

What should I serve this with?

This is a meal in itself!  It already has everything you need so I just serve this with a salad or a nice warm roll like these Homemade Hawaiian Rolls.  However I will say it is fabulous of a pile of fluffy mashed potatoes.

Can I add vegetables to this?

You can add any vegetables you like to this dish.  Corn, peas or carrots would be great in this.  Use what your family likes.

Ingredients used

  • Skinless Chicken Breasts – You can also use boneless skinless thighs if you prefer.
  • Ham – This is a great way to use up leftover ham from the holidays.  You can also just cut up a ham steak from the store.
  • Swiss Cheese – You can cut up a block or use shredded or cut up slices of swiss.
  • Cream of Chicken Soup – I like to use the low sodium kind to cut back on sodium.
  • Sour Cream – These helps create the creamy sauce to this dish.
  • Stuffing Mix – Use your favorite flavor stuffing mix.
