These peanut butter cups start with a chocolate base, an easy, creamy, luscious peanut butter filling and topped with more chocolate and the cutest holiday sprinkles.
This recipe does call for creamy peanut butter but you can use crunchy, you can use almond butter, the possibilities are endless! You can totally make these your own. You could also use a mini muffin tin and make mini peanut butter cups.
The creamy peanut butter layer is made up of peanut butter, butter and powdered sugar to create the peanut butter filling. It is nice and sweet and tastes even better than the store-bought candy.
When it comes to the chocolate for these peanut butter cups you can use milk chocolate, dark chocolate, semi-sweet or white chocolate, or even a mixture like I did here. These taste just like homemade reese’s peanut butter cups. Just a few simple ingredients and you have homemade reese’s cups.
I topped my homemade reese’s peanut butter cups with these adorable sprinkles I got from Amazon. You could also just drizzle green and red chocolate over the top and they would be gorgeous!
These peanut butter cups are super easy to make even your kids will want to help. The filling is no bake and gets rolled into balls and shaped into discs and my kids love helping with that part, and toppings them with sprinkles.

RECIPE FAQS
Where can I find the sprinkles?
I got these sprinkles HERE from Amazon, but you can top these with any sprinkles you find at the store. I find the craft stores actually have a great selection of holiday sprinkles.
Can I use any nut butter?
Of course!! You can use crunchy peanut butter, almond butter, sun butter, any kind of nut butter you like will work. However I will say if you are using a natural peanut butter or a nut butter that is a little more loose you may want to add some extra powdered sugar to help with the extra oil.
Which chocolate works best?
Any chocolate you like will be delicious in this recipe. I do prefer to use a melting chocolate or almond bark, or candy melts. Sometimes chocolate chips can give you a little trouble melting but usually adding a little oil will fix that.
