INGREDIENTS FOR DR. PEPPER CROCKPOT MEATBALLS
- Frozen meatballs- There are a ton of frozen meatballs to choose from on the market, I would suggest staying away from any Italian flavored meatballs and opt for a homestyle flavor which is more neutral. I prefer the meatballs from Sam’s Club.
-
BBQ sauce- Use your favorite barbecue sauce, any flavor will work great.
-
Dr. Pepper- I would not recommend using diet Dr. Pepper as I am not sure how it will be.
-
Brown sugar- This just adds a little sweetness to these dr. pepper meatballs.
-
Parsley for garnish- This is optional, you can also garnish these delicious meatballs with some green onion.
Can I use homemade meatballs for these Slow Cooker Dr. Pepper BBQ Meatballs?
Sure!! If you have a meatball recipe that you know works in the crock pot go for it! I would def brown them first. You can also use turkey meatballs, whatever floats your boat.
Can I add veggies?
Broccoli or snap peas would be delicious in this!! Just add them in towards the end of cooking so they don’t get too mushy, unless you like that, I won’t tell you how to live your life lol.
How can I spice this up?
You can add some sriracha, red pepper flake or cayenne, super easy to add a little pop of heat to this dish!
