RECIPE FAQS
Can I make this old-fashioned glazed ham in the slow cooker?
Of course!! You just follow the steps but instead of putting it in the oven just pop it in your slow cooker. Top with half the glaze, then just let it cook on low for 4-5 hours or until a thermometer reaches 140 degrees. When the ham is warmed through just remove it from the slow cooker, add the rest of the glaze and pop it under the broiler for a minute.
Can I use another juice instead of pineapple?
Sure you can! You can substitute apple or orange juice, even ginger ale works perfectly with this recipe!
Can I use a boneless ham?
Yes, you can certainly use a boneless ham for this. Just be sure to adjust the cooking time for the size boneless ham you purchase.
Can I make this ahead of time?
You can make this ahead of time. I love making a ham ahead of time because it tastes just as good cold as it does warm. You can fully cook ham a day ahead of time and then just glaze it before serving.
