Hey guys!!! I have a couple secrets to share with you today, First secret, I am not a morning person, I could stay in bed till noon (not possible now that I’m a mom lol). I have always dreamed of my little family waking up to the smell of bacon on a Sunday morning. We would all gather at the dining room table in our jammies, my husband sipping coffee while reading the paper and the kids giggled over the comics while I serve a beautiful breakfast. My dream forgot I like to sleep lol.
See my husband works nights so basically we don’t see each other during the week. That means there is a whole lot of TV and movie watching we have to catch up on when it’s the weekend, that also means I don’t get to bed till like 3 am (secret #2) So this mama doesn’t feel like making that huge breakfast she always dreamed of…… till now!
I was doing my weekly shopping at Walmart when I came to the Eggo Waffle section. Now I always pick up some chocolate chip Eggos for Dean and this time I actually stopped to look at all the varieties and that is the when the wheels got spinning…. WAFFLE BAR!!! Frozen Eggo Waffles (secret #3) would enable me to get an amazing breakfast on the table in no time!
I grabbed a few different kinds of Eggos and while I was in the frozen section I also picked up some great frozen fruit that Walmart has to offer. Everything else I needed for a fab waffle bar was already at home.
I was so excited Saturday night because I knew the next morning with the help of the freezer section I would be able to make an amazing waffle bar without any effort (or having to get up uber early).
Sunday morning rolled around and I rolled out of bed ready to start breakfast. I defrosted the fruit in the microwave for a few minutes, popped a few slices of bacon in the oven (Secret #4, easiest way to cook bacon ever!), browned a little sausage and all this took just minutes and cooked while I was toasting up all the yummy waffles. Once everything was done I set it all out on trays and breakfast was done!
Using the scrumptious waffles that took minutes to get toasty and fluffy I was able to get a spectacular breakfast on the table in no time.
My boys loved it! They are big waffle fans anyways and they loved that they could create their own masterpieces. Dean went for his classic Chocolate Chips Wafflers which he smeared with peanut butter, banana and a few extra chocolate chips, yum!
Dan went for something a little more savory. His waffle got topped with spicy sausage, a fried egg a few strips of bacon for a more savory waffle.
I opted for the Mini Waffles each topped with that delicious fruit I got in the freezer section, a little whipped cream and a sprinkling of sliced almonds. Heaven on a plate!
We all sat down pleased with our creations and I sighed with happiness at finally being able to have the family breakfast I dreamed about without losing any precious sleep!
This waffle bar was a hit and it has been requested for every Sunday! I am going to keep my freezer stocked with fluffy Eggo Waffles and we can have that amazing waffle bar every Sunday in no time at all.

What an awesome idea! I don’t want to wait until Sunday morning, though…I think we’re going to have breakfast for dinner tonight. My favorite waffle toppings are chopped nuts and shredded coconut…yum! Thanks for sharing this idea! #client
