These French Dip Biscuits are stuffed with flavor!! Roast beef warms up in onion soup and comes together with melty provolone inside these buttery biscuits.  A dip in some au jus and you have a delicious appetizer or dinner!

There is nothing I love more than an easy appetizer, especially one you can also make into a quick lunch or dinner and these little french dip appetizers fit the bill perfectly!

These are a hit with kids and adults, everyone loves them because they are delicious and no one can eat just one.

You just warm up deli roast beef in a little onion soup to infuse that roast beef with great oniony flavor.  Then you place the roast beef and provolone in fluffy biscuits and make them until they get golden brown and melty.  Then you just whip up a quick au jus for dipping.

You can easily double this recipe to make for a party, you might even want to triple it because they are such a hit!

I just love these French Dip Biscuits because they are so quick, easy and delicious.

We love making these for parties but this weekend I’m making them for a quick lunch!

Can I use other deli meats?

You can! While they wouldn’t really be French Dip anymore you can certainly substitute other lunch meats.

Can I substitute other cheeses?

Sure you can!  Swiss, provolone, mozzarella, cheddar and even pepperjack are all delicious in this.

What should I serve this with?

A quick au jus for dipping is perfect, but you can also serve this with a little horseradish sauce for dipping or a spicy mustard, even a honey mustard.

Can I make this ahead of time?

This isn’t really something that can be made ahead of time, they are best made fresh, but thankfully they are so quick you can whip them up in no time.

Ingredients used

  • Refrigerated biscuits- I like to use the grand style ones but you can use your favorite.
  • Deli roast beef- you can use prepacked or fresh from the deli.
  • Onion soup mix- the dry envelope kind is what you need.
  • Water- this is to make the soup and warm up the roast beef.
  • Provolone cheese- The sliced kind is what I like to use for this.
  • Butter, melted- this is for topping the biscuits and giving them a golden top.
  • Au Jus Gravy mix- I use this for the dipping
  • Parsley- for garnish, totally optional
