Girl’s Night In with Instant Mom and NickMom
I want to start by saying NickMom is my favorite way to relax at the end of a busy day, that is every day around here.
I am a mom. I am a mom of a 4-year-old little boy. That means I am a tired mom!
Here is a run down of what most days are around here.
Wake up. Put hair in bun, throw on some yoga pants.
Wrestle Dean out of bed and begin the 30 minute fight to brush his teeth.
Make breakfast.
Scrub breakfast off floor.
Do dishes.
Build 32 Lego dragons.
Watch same episode of Bubble Guppies that I’ve seen 45 times.
Make lunch.
Try to blog.
Peruse Pinterest instead.
Clean up 57 toy car pileup.
Play “Where did mommy’s phone go” again -_-
Wipe a butt.
Clean up warzone in the bathroom.
Try new recipe from Pinterest.
Convince Dean quinoa is yummy!
Give up the battle and make some dino nuggets.
Finally sit down to dinner.
Realize that quinoa really isn’t that yummy.
Dishes.
Clean up again.
Bathe Dean whilst getting a shower and the bathroom floor clean at same time.
Another tooth brush battle.
Pajama time.
One lightsaber vs pirate sword fight.
Two books.
Four kisses (2 for Dean and 2 for Dragon).
One exhausted, hungry mommy.
But the night time is my time. Time to put my feet up, break into that secret stash of gummy bears and watch TV. TV I want to watch. For the next hour there will be no thieving foxes, orphaned bunny siblings, singing fish or bossy pigs. I have loved being able to watch Tia Mowry-Hardrict go through her pregnancy and parenthood on TV. So naturally I was thrilled to find out she was on a show on NickMom.
NickMom is a great thing to zone out to at the end of a long day. I love the comics, I am always laughing (quietly mind you lol) non-stop when I am watching NickMom. It has a great line up of shows and comics and funny little bits in-between shows and it really is Mother Funny. I can relate to everything on there!
Instant Mom is a new show on NickMom and it is hilarious. Now not only do I get to watch one of my favorite actresses I get to watch her in a fabulous show!
Here is a quick synopsis of Instant Mom..
Martini Mondays and tequila Tuesdays take a back seat to new step-motherhood when former party girl Stephanie (Tia Mowry-Hardrict) marries Charlie (Michael Boatman), an older dad with three kids. Becoming an instant mom doesn’t come with a rulebook, but it does come with a dose of humor as Stephanie traverses the fine line between being a friend and being a responsible parent.
From the first episode of this show I was laughing my butt off and I knew my mommy friends would love it as well. So I decided to host a little “Mom’s Night In” party.
This was to be strictly relaxing and fun.
No cooking! Chinese take out instead. No kids screaming and whining! Pedicures and girl talk instead. No sippy cups of juice and forgotten bottles of milk from under the sofa! Fun mommy cocktails instead.
We took off our shoes, ordered in some General Tso and crab rangoons, put our cell phones away and just relaxed.
Conversation and cocktails flowed. Fortune cookies read and toenails painted and dried.
We sunk into the sofa and turned on Instant Mom. We laughed, and laughed and totally related. It was the perfect show for a girl’s night in. I had recorded a couple of episodes and we watched every one!
The girls agreed it was a great show and each one couldn’t wait to watch it weekly!
Before the girls left for the night I sent them each on their way with a little parting gift…… a nice chocolate candy bar disguised in a “Fig and Wheat Germ Fiber Bar” package to discourage kids and husbands from eating it. Every mom needs that little sweet pick me up at the end of the day.
For the party I made the “Play Day Punch” my new favorite drink for sure!! Here is the recipe I used and a few more to help liven up your girl’s night in!
