Have Fun and Be Safe this Summer with Banana Boat®!
Hey mamas!! Summer is here! The kids are getting out of school and your days are sure to be filled with beach days, pool lounging and all sorts of outdoor fun!
Keeping kids busy during the summer can be hard. We like to go to the pool and Dean is loving the beach this summer!
We wake up in the morning, throw on our bathing suits and pack a cooler with drinks and snacks and Dean grabs his sand bucket and we are out the door!
At the start of summer I like to get a new sand bucket and put a new beach towel, maybe some beach toys and of course Banana Boat® Sunscreen! It is just a nice little gift to give to celebrate the beginning of summer!
We go to this special little beach that has a great sandbar that is so shallow, sometimes there is no water on it at all. It is the perfect place for him to play since the ocean makes me a little iffy when my baby wants to swim in it lol!
We spend the day playing in the waves, chasing hermit crabs, collecting shells and building castles (though Dean just likes to dig holes lol).
We love it and try to go once a week. The best thing about going to the beach with your kids in the summer? It wears them out! Yay, early bedtime lol!
I am sure at some point this summer all us mamas will scoop up our kiddos and take them for some kind of swimming fun.
Before you pop them in their bathing suits and turn them loose in the summer sun there are of course some important precautions you need to take. I always make sure to pack our Banana Boat® Sunscreen with us wherever we go, in fact I stock up so I am never caught without it. No sunscreen, no outside, it is that simple. Us mamas know what a priority sunscreen is. It does much more that just protect against sunburns but it also protects against the long term effects of sun exposure that are not always visible like skin damage and skin cancer.
It is so important to protect your kids and yourself every time you go outside and especially when you are in your bathing suits. I will admit that before I had kids I thought I could just slap on some sunscreen before heading out and I was good to go all day. I am just now learning that sun protection requires at least 1 oz of sunscreen every 2 hours to make sure you are protected in all 7 conditions (sun, pool, ocean water, wind, sweat, sand and extreme heat) which is why I love Banana Boat® because I know we will be protected. That means to be sure to apply 1 ounce (about 2 tablespoons worth) of sunscreen to you and your kid’s entire bodies (don’t forget those ears) 30 minutes BEFORE going outside and reapply EVERY TWO HOURS or immediately after swimming or even excessive sweating.
So this summer make sure to be prepared with lots of fun activities with your kids to ward off boredom and make sure to always have lots of Banana Boat® Sunscreen on hand so you are always ready for a little fun in the sun!
