Dorito Salad
So how can you make a salad kids will eat, put Doritos on it lol. This is a very tasty salad that my family always has when we have something mexican for dinner. You could grill up some chicken or steak to top the salad with and make it a meal in itself. Its not the healthiest salad on the block but it is different and very delicious. This makes a lot of salad so feel free to half it. Enjoy!!
Dorito Salad
- One head of lettuce chopped and washed.
- Two cans of red kidney beans rinsed
- Handful of scallions chopped
- About 1-2 cups of shredded or crumbled cheddar cheese
- 1 1/2 cups crushed Doritos
- One can of corn/black bean mix (optional)
Mix all the above ingredients and dress with Catalina dressing and serve.
I make something very similar but add cooked ground chuck or hamburger and it makes the whole meal…just can’t stop eating it!
I read your post about adding hamburger meat. That sounds awesome. Just wondered, do you cook your beans with the meat or just rinse and add them to the salad. Thanks! Susan
I would still just rinse and add them to salad, I wouldn’t cook them, though you could :)
Delicious with ground chuck and made just like a taco. This recipe is easy and a welcome change to your diet.
We make this, too, only with small Fritos instead. I’m going to try it with Doritos sometime!
I make this, but it was called Taco Salad. With the added ground beef (and I heated the kidney beans after the ground beef was fully cooked) and I also used Thousand Island Dressing. YUM!!! So good!!!!
