Hey guys!! Today I am going to share with you the most amazing recipe ever!! Easy Bacon Jam! Bacon Jam can sound kind of intimidating but trust me it is so easy!
The only thing you need to know is start with good bacon. I make sure to use the best which is Wright® Brand Bacon Hickory Smoked Bacon. This bacon is my all time favorite!! This bacon is so delicious! It is thick cut, full of hickory smoked flavor, it is just amazing. We love it for breakfast, it make the ultimate BLT, we just use it on everything!
So back to this jam. It is so easy to make, it’s basically just a thick, sweet mix of bacon and onion. The get all caramelized and happy together with some brown sugar and a little vinegar and two secret ingredients and that is basically all you need to make a delicious Easy Bacon Jam.
Again you do need to start with the best bacon, Wright® Brand Bacon Hickory Smoked Bacon, this is where all the flavor comes from. It is bacon jam so you have to make sure to get the best bacon for this.
Now after it get all sticky and jammy you can jar it up and pop it in the fridge for anything, it is great with cream cheese on crackers, spread on a little toast but I love it on Sweet Potato Biscuits, delicious!
The sweetness from the biscuits works so well with the sweet, savory jam, it is perfection!
I feel like I make this more during the holidays, I think because it is such an amazing holiday appetizer that everyone loves. It just feels special like the holidays.
But what I really like to do with this Easy Bacon Jam is to gift it. The holidays are coming up, actually they are speeding right at us. I like to have some gifts on hand for hostess gifts especially.
You put this jam in a little jar with a pretty ribbon and you have a gift ready for anytime.
I especially like to take it in a basket with some sweet potato biscuits as a gift when I go to Thanksgiving dinner, or to a Christmas Party. The hostess can serve it right away or keep it tucked for herself.
It is very easy to double or triple this recipe for the holidays so you can be sure to have plenty for yourself and to gift lol.
Can I use any kind of onion?
I do use a sweet yellow onion but feel free to use whatever onions you have on hand, red, white, yellow they will all work.
How long will this keep?
I keep it in a jar in the fridge and I would say it will stay good about a week, however I doubt it will stick around that long lol.
Can I use decaf coffee?
Of course!
Can I substitute regular syrup for the maple syrup?
You sure can!

Easy Bacon Jam
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb. Wright® Brand Bacon Hickory Smoked Bacon:
- 2 sweet onions thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup brewed coffee
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
Instructions
- Cut the bacon into half-inch slices and add them to a large frying pan over medium-high heat until cooked through, do not over cook until crispy
- Remove the bacon from the pan and most of the drippings, leaving about a tablespoon in the pan.
- Add the onions to the pan and cook over medium heat until caramelized.
- Turn heat to low and add in the sugar and cook for 5 minutes.
- Add the coffee and about 1/2 cup of water.
- Next add in your bacon, maple syrup and vinegar and cook over medium heat, stirring until it thickens.
- You can serve this right away or pack into jars and keep in the fridge.
- Serve at room temp and enjoy!
