Cranberry BBQ Sausages with Kraft Macaroni & Cheese
Hey guys!! Today I wanna talk to you about something we all grew up loving Kraft Macaroni & Cheese! It was a staple in my house growing up and even now that I am a mom myself my pantry is never without that classic blue box!
It always is the perfect side to any dinner, the yummiest quick lunch, or just a cheesy bowl of comfort whenever!
It was a favorite of me and my brother when we were younger. I remember sitting down to dinner on those warm summer nights and my mom would bring in bbq ribs from the grill and serve them next to that cheesy gloriousness that is Kraft Macaroni & Cheese. We loved the flavor of the bbq sauce when it would mix with the Kraft Mac & Cheese so much that when we would fix a bowl for lunch we would always drizzle a little bbq sauce across the top.
Even today when I pull out that blue box for dinner I always add a touch of bbq and my brother does too.
Kraft Macaroni & Cheese tastes the same on my kid’s plates as it did when I was just a kid. I love knowing that when I open my pantry, boil those noodles up and add that cheese sauce it will always taste just like I remembered, delicious!
I was super surprised when I found out that Kraft rolled out the new Original Kraft Macaroni & Cheese recipe in December of 2015 without officially telling us to show how the new recipe tastes so similar to the classic recipe that virtually everyone #didntnotice!!
That’s right!! Kraft updated their recipe and it tastes just like it always has. I haven’t tasted any difference and we have had plenty of Kraft Mac & Cheese lately!
So what is so new? Original Kraft Mac & Cheese replaced artificial dyes (yellow 5 and 6) with paprika, annatto and turmeric to make sure it was still that classic color we all grew up with and that our kid’s nowadays recognize. They also removed all artificial preservatives from the recipe.
Making sure there are no artificial flavors, preservatives and dyes in my food is super important now that I have 2 growing boys of my own. I am so happy that now I can feel even better about spooning their favorite Kraft Mac & Cheese on their plates.
I was hopeful when Kraft Mac & Cheese announced last year that they were removing artificial flavors, preservatives and dyes that it would still taste just as yummy. So I was so happy when I found out that for the past three months, Kraft has been conducting the biggest and most secret “blind taste test.” We have been eating their new recipe all this time and never even noticed!
Of course Kraft Mac & Cheese is amazing on its own, but I like to serve something that tastes awesome with it. Going back to how much my brother and I love BBQ with mac & cheese I decided to whip up this super easy dinner to go with it.
Introducing my delicious, easy Cranberry BBQ Sausages! And yes you can make these in the slow cooker if you want!
These could not get more simpler or more delicious! You just heat up your favorite BBQ sauce with some cranberry sauce and a bit of brown sugar and throw some cocktail sausages in that hot tub of flavor!
After everything warms up and gets all comfy with each other it is dinner time!!
I just serve these alongside the Kraft Mac & Cheese and a fruit on the side and dinner is done in minutes and it is a real crowd pleaser!
Cranberry BBQ Sausages with Kraft Macaroni & Cheese
Ingredients
- 1 package cocktail sausages
- Half a can of cranberry sauce
- 1/2 cup of your favorite BBQ sauce
- 2 tsps brown sugar
Instructions
- Combine the cranberry sauce, bbq sauce and brown sugar in a pan on medium and stir till all melted and warm.
- Next add the cocktail sausages and bring to a bubble.
- Turn to low and let warm through until you are ready to eat!
Now we all already know that Kraft Macaroni & Cheese is awesome but as if it could not get any better they are thanking fans who have tried the new recipe and still loved it with thousands of thank you gifts!!
