Sausage Queso Dip, the Best Queso Ever!

Sharing is caring!

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of RO*TEL & VELVEETA for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

Hey guys!!  Y’all getting ready for some football?!?  I know nothing about football lol!!  But I do love football parties because that means I get to snack on everyone’s favorite game day snack, Queso!!

Now I am going to share with you the best, easiest queso that ever lived, and how you can customize it for your spread.

To make the best queso ever you need only two ingredients, Velvetta cheese and Ro*tel tomatoes, that is it!  You can warm is slowly on the stove, throw it all in the slow cooker and let it melt all day into perfection, or if you need your queso fix asap you can melt it all together in the microwave. That my friends is how you make the best queso ever.  It could not be easier or more delicious.

Well…… I take that back, this two ingredient queso while delicious and a classic on it’s own, can be customized 1000 ways to make your own special queso recipe.

I am going to share with you the recipe my family has used for years and makes an appearance at every get together, from Christmas to the 4th of July.

I just get out a large skillet (non-stick is your friend here people!) and brown up a pound of breakfast sausage. Not italian sausage, not chorizo, just plain ol’ breakfast sausage.

Brown it up and drain off the grease and remove from pan.

Add in your cubed Velvetta and an 8 oz block cubed cream cheese.

Go ahead and throw in your can of Ro*tel tomatoes and chiles to the pan too.

Now you just have to let that all melt together and become cheesy, gooey, perfectly spiced queso!

This queso is so popular around here I noticed people were often forgoing my other snacking offerings and heading right for the queso.  So I smarted up and just started serving this Sausage Queso at my game day spread.  I serve it along side all sorts of yummies that just beg to be dipped in that cheesy goodness.  Salty tortilla chips are of course the obvious choice for dipping.

But you can think outside the box and dip warm, fluffy, soft pretzels.

Or even little smoked sausages, yum!

Feel free to add your own dipping companions like broccoli or chicken tenders!

Now if (and that is a big IF) you have any queso left at the end of the day, it is delicious mixed with some diced chicken and rice for a quick flavorful dinner.

So now you know it only takes 2 ingredients to make the greatest queso that ever lived!  Then you can turn it into epic queso by adding your own mix ins like my Sausage Queso.

    1. You could use salsa or a small can of diced tomatoes and then a little can of diced green chiles. Thanks for stopping by!
