Sausage Gravy Biscuit Casserole in a baking dish

This Sausage Biscuit Gravy Casserole is my new favorite breakast.  So easy and full of flavor!! Sausage with thick, rich gravy is topped with flaky, buttery biscuits and baked until bubbly and golden.

There is nothing I love more than an easy breakfast, especially one that is perfect for the holiday mornings!

This is a hit with kids and adults, and perfect for entertaining.  I serve this every holiday for breakfast.  It has become a fast tradition in our family.  Everyone loves this because it is hearty and so comforting.

You just brown up your favorite sausage and make a delicious white gravy.  The whole thing gets topped with canned biscuits making this super easy and fast to make.

Another quick little breakfast treat I like to make for the holidays is this Cranberry Mustard Sauce that tastes amazing on the biscuits with that savory sausage. These Cranberry Sausage Biscuits come together in no time because they are already cooked!  I just warm them up in a pan and pop them on those biscuits with a good smear of that Cranberry Mustard Sauce.  So good that everyone even grabbed another one to go! Just a quick little hack to make those sausage biscuits a little more festive.

Cranberry Mustard

  1. 1 cup cranberry sauce
  2. 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  3. 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

Now, the main attraction of this breakfast is the Sausage Gravy & Biscuit Casserole.  This is one of my favorite ways to prepare this classic because I just think it is easier to serve and easier to eat this way.  It also stays warmer, the biscuits don’t dry out and it’s easier to whip up a little ahead of time and keep warm.

I love that instead of standing over the stove making sausage and gravy during the holidays I can just make this ahead of time.  It warms up beautifully!

So, I just make my sausage gravy like normal and pour it into a 9×13” pan.  I then break apart canned biscuits and place them all over the top of the gravy and bake!

That’s it!!

  1. I never grew up eating ‘B’s & G’s’, as my hubby calls it, so when he requested it, I tried, but it was never ‘right'(like grandma’s). Tried many different ways, cooking sausage lightly, draining grease, cooking it deeply brown and not draining grease, to making it in separate pans with the drained grease and NO sausage at all in it!!! Couldn’t figure it out as they all tasted good, but not like grandma’s!! Then, after a few years of this, he says “I think she mighta used bacon”. !!!!!! Game changed!! Next time I made it with bacon and he was HAPPY!! (Finally) I think this casserole would work just as well with bacon gravy and would be divine!! Can’t wait!! Thanks for recipe!!
