So what if you took everyone’s favorite snack and made it into a cookie?  Well my friends then you have these Muddy Buddy Cookies!!  Which are perfect for the holidays since they look like little snowballs.  How cute!!!

You just make peanut butter cookies (you can use the recipe I did, your favorite peanut butter cookie recipe or even take a shortcut and use store-bought dough).

Ingredients

  • Cookies
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 stick butter, at room temperature
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup smooth peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • Coating
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips, 6 oz
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 to 2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease a baking sheet. In a large bowl, cream together sugar and butter. Beat in egg to mixture. Mix in peanut butter and vanilla until smooth and creamy. Stir in salt, baking soda and flour until well combined. Roll dough into 1 inch balls. Place on baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes.
  2. Once cookies have cooled you are ready to coat them.
  3. In small microwaveable bowl, microwave chocolate chips, butter and peanut butter uncovered on High 1 minute to 1 minute 30 seconds; stir until smooth. Stir in vanilla.
  4. Place powdered sugar in shallow dish like a pie pan and set aside. Place a cookie in the coating and spoon a little coating over cookie to coat. Lift out with a fork and gently shake off excess coating. Place cookie directly into powdered sugar and coat. Repeat with all cookies.
  5. I keep mine in the fridge just like I do my Muddy Buddies, just to help them stay less messy.

  1. Those look so good. We only have jars of peanut butter and if we’re lucky, Reese’s Pieces in the UK. My family love peanut butter so would go nuts for these!
