I love coffee not just because it is delicious, not just because it gives me a caffeine boost I so desperately need, but because when brewed it fills your house with an aroma that transports you to a million different memories.

 

Sometimes when I’m filling my mug in the morning, that coffee smell hits me and reminds me of the click clacking heels down the hall of our church while we rush past the kitchen where there would be tons of coffee brewing, sometimes it reminds me of Christmas morning and how we had to stay in our beds until everything was ready and I could smell the coffee brewing while family filled the living room waiting for us to see what Santa had brought, sometimes I’m transported back to the woods where we camped with all our family and friends and while laying in my sleeping bag watching my breath puff out in the cold air I could hear the men laughing and brewing a pot over the fire.

My husband loves coffee and after he tucks me and the kids in the bed on the weekends, he goes downstairs and to make himself a cup and I drift off to sleep with the smell of coffee filling the bedroom and it is comforting.

 

Throughout all these years, all these memories, all those cups filled the one thing that remains the same is Folgers.  It is my family’s coffee of choice and still is.

Since everyone in my family loves coffee I always make sure to have our single-cup coffee maker ready and lots of Folgers K-Cups on hand.  I am so happy that I can get my favorite coffee for my favorite machine.

I always grab a box when I’m shopping at Food Lion and with so many varieties like Caramel Drizzle and Mocha Swirl it is hard to choose which one to try next!

 

I like to fill a little tiered tray with the cups so our guests can just pick one and they are just seconds away from a glorious hot cup of delicious Folgers coffee!

I make sure to keep it stocked when I have guests arriving and I also like to have a sweet treat to go along with our coffee.

 

This Mocha Sheet Cake is heaven and pairs perfectly with a steamy cup of coffee.  It is so easy to make too!!

 

Coffee gives your chocolate cake a special little pop of flavor and turns a chocolate cake into something spectacular.

 

This cake is my favorite to make and you always have all the ingredients on hand!

 

You can even use one of the flavored Folgers K-Cups to mix it up a little!

Mocha Sheet Cake

Ingredients

Cake

• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 2 cups white sugar
• 1/2 cup butter
• 1/2 cup cup shortening
• 1 cup brewed Folgers coffee
• 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
• 1/2 cup buttermilk
• 2 eggs
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Frosting

• 1/2 cup butter
• 1/4 cup milk
• 1/4 cup brewed Folgers coffee
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
• 7 cups confectioners' sugar

Instructions

1. 1) Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
2. 2) Grease and flour jelly roll pan.
3. 3) In a large bowl, mix together flour, baking soda and white sugar. Set aside.
4. 4) In a saucepan, heat 1/2 cup butter, shortening, coffee, and 1/4 cup cocoa until boiling. Stir frequently.
5. 5) Pour chocolate mixture over flour and sugar.
6. 6) Stir in buttermilk, eggs, baking soda and 1 teaspoon vanilla.
7. 7) Spread into jelly roll pan.
8. 8) Bake for 20 minutes in the preheated oven, or until toothpick inserted in center of cake comes out clean.
9. 9) While cake bakes, prepare frosting.
10. 10) Combine 1/2 cup butter or margarine, milk, coffee and 2 tablespoons cocoa in a saucepan.
11. 11) Heat to boiling, stirring constantly.
12. 12) Beat in confectioners' sugar and vanilla until smooth.
13. 13) Spread warm frosting over cake as soon as it is taken from the oven.14) Cool.
14. Mocha Sheet Cake is so easy to make you will find yourself making it all the time!

 

This cake is such a treat and the glaze that goes on top is out of this world!! It is a good thing it makes a whole jelly roll pan worth because it goes quick! (I can never resist sneaking bites every time I walk by!)
